Topbag & Shoppers - -  > Kids & Family

We are going to make some, cute, simple &fun shoppers today!:)
In the first version we can make one out of a top and in the second we make them from scratch and add some features to make them easy to always carry around with you even inside your purse.

Family version:
Take a top you hardly ever wear anymore. Fold it inside out. Sew or glue or staple the bottom side together so its sturdy enough. now fold inside out again...and.. It's a bag!!!! You can put your gym/swimwear in there or take it to go shopping or gift it to a friend or family member:) You can glue or stitch a lint on both sides (to hide the existing sewing line), or paste some glitter on the bag or even write someones name on it etc. Decorate it however YOU like it! :)
No old tops? Ask your mom, dad, brother, sister or friends if they might have one for you.

Sewing/leftover/from scratch version:
Make sure you have at least a double A4 amount of fabric. Fold and cut the shape and sew/trim all the edges. Fold inside out (if wanted add a drawstring tunnel on top of bag) and sew the bottom together. If you have enough fabric left over for the handles then use it to make a single or double handles..if not, no worries! Use a cord or lint or trimming material and sew it to the outsides of the bag.

Now we can make the portable inside another bag! Either sew a stroke with push buttons to the bag (in the middle) or make a tiny version of the bag and hang/attach it to the big one(a bit on the side). Fold the shopper as small as possible and either close with push buttons or put inside the tiny bag. How handy! Now you can always carry an extra bag inside your handbag:)
Perfect for unforeseen shopping or for unforeseen good weather, you can put scarf/coat in there:)

Sprite to light (or vase;) - -  > Kids & Family

Fun and easy DIY project for the family!

Needed: An empty plastic bottle scissors and spraypaint.
Extra fun: stickers, washitape, painters tape, metallic markers, leafs flowers drawings etc.

1. Bottle Vase
Cut a plastic bottle in half. Then put some stickers on the bottle (that you will later remove and see the original bottle color). Then ask your parents for help; Prepare a protected surface and start spraying all around! :) let dry and check if it's everywhere and spray some more until the whole bottle is covered and the paint has dried.

Take of the stickers/shapes and smoothen or shorten the bottom half if needed/wanted. Then place and tape the top on the bottom (you might have to make some cuts on the top of the bottom so the top part can go over it.). Now put some water inside, pluck a flower from the garden...and put it in the new personalized vase!:) It would also make a great mothers or fathers day gift!

Extra: you can also spraypaint some leafs and/or even flowers and attach then to the back of the vase.
No flowers in the garden? Check out this post and make your own:) You could also hang a tiny bracelet on the bottle neck and you could write the name of the person you want to give the vase to (your own name is also allowed;). Have fun with it! And i would love to see your results! Please post them on facebook or instagram #1nici_diy and inspire everyone! :)

2. Sprite to Light
Cut a plastic bottle in half. Then, if you want, cut some shapes along the edges and/or make some holes in the bottle that will later shine the brightest light. You can also put some stickers on the bottle (that you will later remove and see the original bottle color and will also shine more light). Then ask your parents for help; Prepare a protected surface and start spraying all around! :) let dry and check if it's everywhere and spray some more until the whole bottle is covered and dry.

Take of the stickers/shapes and smoothen or shorten the bottom half if needed/wanted. Now decide if you want to make a candle holder using only the bottom or if you can put in some ledlights (some old Christmas lights or even some tiny bike lights). For the second option we are going to tape the top half on the bottom half (you might have to make some cuts on the top of the bottom so the top part can go over it). Push the lights in...pres them on and tadaaah! A new personalized bedlight!!! :) I'm sure you family members and friends would love them as well, so if there is a birthday coming up..you might want to have an empty bottle ready to be transformed.

Extra: you can also spraypaint some other things (tiny toys or a flower etc) and attach then to the back or on the cap of the vase. You could also hang a tiny bracelet on the bottle neck and you could write the name of the person you want to give the vase to (your own name is also allowed;).
Have fun with it! And i would love to see your results! Please post your results on facebook or instagram #1nici_diy and inspire everyone! :
