A girls real best friend...



What's a girls best friend? Diamonds?  LBD Little Black Dress? NO!
A real "girls best friend" is the EBB Elastic Black Belt! <3

The proof of this you will find on the "How to wear" page. And now we can make sure we have one for every occasion:)

Start with an elastic black belt or peace of black elastic (with of 4/5 cm is recommended and maybe make one of 2/3 cm). We will need:
- (If your starting from scratch: elastic (1m. eventually 60-65 cm with space for overlap/finish) and a closing clasp or push buttons)
- Black thread or strong glue.
- (Push buttons or Velcro  (2pc) if you want to cover the closing)
- Decorations (bought application, broach, button, peace of lace, black felted sheet, beads, cord, necklaces/chains, etc.)

1. Think fast
Decide if you want to cover the closing or if you want to have the closing in the back.
Close front: In this case you can either put the decoration on both sides of the closing or (with push button closing) cover it and attach only on one side. The other side will be attached and dis-attached with Velcro or push button underneath the decoration. It's recommended to use black felt or leather to use as the background of your decoration.
Close back: Make sure you find the middle before adding your decoration.

2. Get attached
Lets get going and add the decoration. (black will keep it slimming and just an application in the middle as well, try not to cover the whole belt). Gluing your decoration is the easiest but keep in mind that the belt is stretchy and that you will need a sturdy background for your decoration. Sewing is less easy but lasts forever. Some elastics can ravel when you push a needle through..you are supposed to use a needle with no point, don't worry! i didn't have one either! Just use the back of your needle to go trough the texture:)

Extra inspiration

Sweet Dreams Catcher

Easy and super fun to make, with lovely results! <3 Make it in any shape you like and with any material you like just make sure you have so e tiny twinkle lights (i used VISVISS ikea - no they are not paying me to say this..unfortunately;p) and that the shape is big/small enough to at least go around the edges and down three times. For this example i used a placemat i found, but you can also create your own shape with iron cord (see twinkle post  for tips) or make it out of cut outs cardboard or lace! From Showercurtain To Raincoat!:)

It worked! I had this idea, that the fabric of a showercurtain might be perfect for a poncho or a raincoat. So, i got a new one, and tried it out! Now, i have to admit it was a lot harder then i thought (mostly because I've never worked with this kind of fabric and I've actually never made a coat or a hoodie before;). But..It works! I'm going to tell you how i did it and I would love to see what YOU make of it! 1. Close the cutains Lay the showercurtain on the floor and fold the top and bottom to the middle. (a little bit more of the top/bottom if it's not trimmed correctly yet, mine had a good bottom and even buttonholes on top so i could totally use it as it was). Then start pinning or (to make it even easier) start taping paper tape on the places where you think you should cut/sew.
