Easiest Summer Bracelets




I want to post some more complicated jewelry as well, but lets start with some fun and really easy bracelets to brighten up the summer even more!:)
Needed: elastics (preferable coloured an good looking but even normal elastic or hair elastic will do), charms ( I've mostly used open charms for this example to make a double elastic side but Making a single one is even easier (check anklets) so normal charms work good as well!), caps! soft metal caps to hide knots;) And if you like add beads, use cord with magnetic closing etc. More tutorials coming soon:)


Take 1 peace of elastic, pull it through the charm on one side and then on the other side. Now either tie them together at the end, or 1 cm from the charm on both sides leaving a single (more stretchable) elastic in the back. Use the caps  to hide the knots and...Done already! :D on to the next!
A good reason to work with elastics is that it fits anyone and it doesn't discolor (like chains or other metals) And (even though i love working with cords and leftovers) it does not require any closing materials.

No caps? No worries! You can either go for one knot in the back and leave it like that, or place a big enough bead on one of the double sides before closing and then place it over the knot in the end, or use needle and thread to make it look like a round coloured ball.
Unravelling knot? My trick is to put a tiny bit of double sided tape on the knot before placing a cap so it doesn't come peeking out later, try it!
Ugly Elastics? If you have only ugly elastic then you could either spray paint it (stretched), or braid it with a cord (stretched!), or sew a fabric around it:)
No charms? Make them! create a shape from iron or personalize a safety pin etc. If you have only normal (not open) charms then either attach with thread or rings on both sides or just make a single bracelet and hang it/them on there.

From Showercurtain To Raincoat!:)

It worked! I had this idea, that the fabric of a showercurtain might be perfect for a poncho or a raincoat. So, i got a new one, and tried it out! Now, i have to admit it was a lot harder then i thought (mostly because I've never worked with this kind of fabric and I've actually never made a coat or a hoodie before;). But..It works! I'm going to tell you how i did it and I would love to see what YOU make of it! 1. Close the cutains Lay the showercurtain on the floor and fold the top and bottom to the middle. (a little bit more of the top/bottom if it's not trimmed correctly yet, mine had a good bottom and even buttonholes on top so i could totally use it as it was). Then start pinning or (to make it even easier) start taping paper tape on the places where you think you should cut/sew.
